Vintage Hand Hooked Rug – New England flair – lighthouse and more

Vintage hand hooked rug worked on monk’s cloth and hooked with yarn, with a decidedly New England appeal that features a lighthouse, seagulls, etc. Back shows some staining along the binding and a small area of damage to one corner; however, the staining does not show through to front. There is a net-like fabric on the back perhaps to help keep the stitches from coming undone. No missing stitches that I could see. Colors are exceptionally vibrant and strong. Looks like the rug was folded instead of being rolled up as it is wrinkled and doesn’t lay quite flat but a quick steaming would solve that in short order. Measures approx. 19″x30″.
